Venyx s Oseanyx collection draws on both outer space and the depths of the ocean for inspiration. These stunning Tiger Ray drop earrings are part of the collection, with designer Eugenie Niarchos taking inspiration from the Wes Anderson film The Life Aquatic to create this tiger-like take on a manta ray. The earrings are fashioned in 18K yellow gold, with their tiger stripes rendered in glow-in-the-dark, orange enamel. Sparkle comes from the white diamonds, rubies, yellow and blue diamonds, amethysts, tsavorites, blue sapphires, and green agates that dot the rays bodies and articulated tails.

Instead, she conceived of an entire planet that she named ‘Venyx World’. “A planet full of the brightest, psychedelic colours, the most amazing, lush plants and the most unreal animals,” is how the designer describes it. ‘Venyx World’ serves as the touchstone for her jewellery, which takes its cues from an array of ideas including the natural world, Fifties Modernism, science fiction and supernatural phenomena. Indeed, the designer’s bijou Mayfair showroom is filled with mood boards populated with a mix of images of Bond girls and tropical fish and books on alchemy.
